Cyanotype
Alternative printmaking processes through a classroom elective.
Cyanotype was an introduction into print making techniques in design school. Having experimented with linocutting and other methods previously, this was quite refreshing. We spent several days meticulously printing, which included producing negatives, mixing solutions, acquiring textures from nature, and working in a darkened area, before ultimately exhibiting our work.
A well-rounded workshop that covered more ground than just the obvious print-making, challenged us to use ordinary everyday objects to create beautiful compositions and our immediate environment and a phone camera to capture images to print.
